Dear Members:

This year marks our 50^th Anniversary of providing excellent training to the volunteers of the State of Oregon! As we near conference I want to take this opportunity to make sure each member department has the proper paperwork for voting at the conference. Enclosed you will find several very important documents:

Firefighter of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Award Nomination forms:

Criteria for selection of either of these awards are clearly outlined on the nomination form. Conference is fast approaching and so are the deadlines. I strongly encourage you to have your Fire Chief or volunteer association President complete these nominations as soon as possible as they are due no later than May 1, 2008.

Department Delegate Registration Form:

In order for your department to have a vote for board elections dues must have been paid for the year and this form must be completed and turned in prior to any election or call for a vote.

If you intend to run for a board position at conference the form MUST be filled out completely and have a letter of support from either your Fire Chief or Association President submitted before voting occurs. Positions open for election this year are: President, 1^st Vice President, 2^nd Vice President, and Two-year Director.

Conference Scholarship Form:

If your department would like to attend conference, but, due to budgetary constrictions is unable, the OVFA offers scholarships to the Annual Conference. When applying for a scholarship, please be sure to complete the form, register for classes and mail in the form before the deadline.
