Welcome to our site.

The Oregon Volunteer Firefighters Association represents emergency medical technicians, (EMT) and firefighters across Oregon. Our membership is comprised of both volunteer and combination (paid firefighters working with volunteer responders) fire agencies. Some of these are special fire districts while others are city fire departments. Almost without exception they are training to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) level of FF I. We offer to our membership a number of benefits including Accidental Death & Disability coverage, scholarships, training & equipment grants, our annual firefighters conference and recruitment & retention information. The OVFA also tracks legislation that effects volunteer first responders through out Oregon and is also a member of the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC).

SCAPPOOSE FIRE DISTRICT REQUESTS ASSISTANCE......

"Hello,  I am a volunteer with the Scappoose Rural Fire Protection Dist and we are requesting assistance to help offset the cost of our fallen firefighters funeral.  As you may know our brother, Robert Hales, died last Sunday as a result of a cardiac incident after fighting wildland fires for 12 hours .  His funeral is this Monday @ 10:00am at the Scappoose High School. If you know of other departments or agencies who would be interested in donating to the Scappoose Volunteer Firefighters Association, please have them contact Ronda Melton at 503-543-5026.  We thank you for your help during this troublesome time. Any Memorial donations may be made to the "Hales Family Memorial Fund" at St Helens Community Federal Credit Union or sent to c/o PO Box 625, Scappoose, OR 97056."
